I agree with this – sometime you want to move the majority of the tags TOWARDS the detail, and sometimes you want to move the majority AWAY from the detail – this could be placed in a separate “settings menu” that you only access to change defaults such as align to first selected, align to leftmost, align to rightmost, align to last selected I believe this would add a considerable amount of functionality, and I would use this addin constantly instead of just sporadically as i do now.

I am sorry to hear that your keyboards shortcuts are not working. Can you send me a screenshot of your issue? Thanks for your help! I am running out of options : Did you try to just type “Align” in the search bar of the Shortcut panel, without filtering by the Add-Ins tabs? You can also try to unistall and reinstall the Align plugin. Looking at the picture you provided it shows the keyboard commands under the add-ins tab. Thank you for the free handy little plugin but I have to ask why the need for a leader for the addin to work?

You can find helpfull online training from him on the Autodesk Web page also. I highly recommend his plugin for navisworks clash detection filter. Very useful add-on for annotating. Wish you could leave the commands expanded on your second screen so you don’t have to click the drop down to change alignment. I really enjoy tagging several items and then being able to align left or right. The one thing I think that could make this even better is if the addin worked with “text boxes” also.

Many times, we use text and tags together and if we could use one tool to align them, that would be amazing. Even if there were two tools, Text alignment and Tag Alignment, it would be very helpful. At the time, several other software packages—such as ArchiCAD and Reflex—provided a three-dimensional virtual building model, and let the user control individual components via parameters parametric components. Two key differences in Revit were that users created parametric components in a graphical “family editor” rather than a programming language, and the model captured all relationships between components, views, and annotations so that a change to any element automatically propagated to keep the model consistent.

The concept of bi-directional associativity [5] between components, views, and annotations was a distinguishing feature of Revit for many releases. The ease of making changes inspired the name Revit, a contraction of Revise-Instantly. At the heart of Revit is a parametric change propagation engine that relied on a new technology, context-driven parametrics, that was more scalable than the variational and history-driven parametrics used in mechanical CAD software.

Revit includes categories of objects ‘families’ in Revit terminology. These fall into three groups:. An experienced user can create realistic and accurate families ranging from furniture [17] to lighting fixtures, [18] as well as import existing models from other programs. Revit families can be created as parametric models with dimensions and properties. This lets users modify a given component by changing predefined parameters such as height , width or number in the case of an array.

In this way a family defines a geometry that is controlled by parameters, each combination of parameters can be saved as a type , and each occurrence instance in Revit of a type can also contain further variations.

For example, a swing door may be a Family. It may have types that describe different sizes, and the actual building model has instances of those types placed in walls where instance-based parameters could specify the door hardware uniquely for each occurrence of the door. Although Revit software comes with a range of families out of the box OOTB , they are limited, so users may find a need to build their own families or buy them from online stores such as Plansort, Bimbandit or Andekan.

Many experienced BIM users also make and later sell their own families on these websites. Because of copyright issues in project work, fully 3D-modeled Revit project models are rarely for sale.

Johnes, i tried your plugin for aligning, but it only seems to work on components, it wont work with doors, walls, detail items etc etc how come?

This is a great addition for productivity. I’ve recently upgraded to Revit And i’m missing this add-on. Is there a time line on this being compatible with the latest Revit? Side Note: I’m actually shocked that we are in and this isn’t native to Autodesk! Seriously, for the price of a yearly subscription I’d expect this type of functionality to be baked in!

Please BIM 42 can you update to support ! I do a lot of drafting views, and this plugin has literally saved me days and days. For best use, setup with shortcut keys, which makes it even quicker. Very useful set of tools to Align lots of things, not just Annotation. Revit issue: once aligned, the set of annotation remains highlighted, but if you try to nudge the annotation it doesnt move.

Re-focusing on the view by clicking on theview name tab seems to re-set the focuse and you can move the updated tags One request for correction is likely to require an update of the distribute horizontally function.

My opinion is that you should change it to the average of the highest and lowest objects, not the average of the first and last objects. We should not have to rely on add-ons for basic features such as this. Helpful app! Until I found this solution to get it work in I was very excited when I read this suggestion as I feel lost without this amazing plugin since upgrading to , unfortunately for me the change wasn’t successful. I also tried Lucas Rubini suggestion which didn’t work for me either. Looking forward to the update, unless anyone else has another suggestion.

Very usefull for quick and clean setup of sheets, only feature i miss is an abbility to align Spot elevations on sections. Thank you very much for a great plugin, it has been a life-saver for me. Currently tagging a massive project, where I am tagging loads and loads of fire pipes in MEP. Any chance to add the function of aligning tags that are aligned vertically in 45 degrees angle for the next update?

Thanks again for great work! Works exactly as I would expect Revit to out of the box. I also hope this is upgraded to soon. I am trying to center align Room tags to Ceiling tags. However, when I do this I get an error saying:. Parameter name: Head position of the tag with no leader could not be located outside of the host element. Your known issues page says something about Room, Space and Area tags with a leader need a double click be aligned.

This has made my week!!! This add in is very useful, I find myself reaching for it often via keyboard shortcuts of course. I have been using this a while longer now, and I have another feature request.

This would be a very simple way of centering objects with a shortcut instead of having to select and move by midpoint. The only addin that I bring from the panel and keep it at the work space.

This option is still available and appropriate for co-located design team. Since Autodesk also offers hosted cloud-based central repositories for Revit as a service.

When a user creates a building, model, or any other kind of object in Revit, they may use Revit’s rendering engine to make a more realistic image of what is otherwise a very diagrammatic model. The user accomplishes this either by using the premade model, wall, floor, etc.

Revit comes with a plethora of predefined materials, each of which can be modified to the user’s desires. The user can also begin with a “Generic” material. With this, the user can set the rotation, size, brightness, and intensity of textures, gloss maps also known as shinemaps , transparency maps, reflection maps , oblique reflection maps, hole maps, and bump maps , as well as leaving the map part out and just using the sliders for any one or all or none of the aforementioned features of textures.
